Symi Island, Dodecanese, Greece
Located about 41 kilometres (25 miles) north-northwest of Rhodes and 425 km (264 mi) from Piraeus, the port of Athens, with 58.1 square kilo metres (22.4 sq mi) of mountainous terrain. It's nearest land neighbors are the Datça and Bozburun peninsulas of Muğla Province in Turkey.
Getting there
There is no airport on Symi, which is partly what makes it so peaceful. So, visiting the island involves a ferry trip (unless you have your own boat of course) either from Greece’s main port at Piraeus near Athens or from one of the neighbouring islands.
The best options are:
1. By boat from Piraeus(about 16 hours).
